A La Cart

I came across this documentary on the Street Foods of India and I thought I must share it with you.

They’ve covered Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Lucknow.

Even though they’ve left out huge swathes of Western and Southern India and its super delicious foods, it’s still worth a watch.

Enjoy.

Salivation guaranteed.

Food in the Streets of India

A film by Pria Ahluwalia for the Surabhi Foundation. Made for Public Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

If the culture of a country can be inferred through its food, then the Indian character must seem a cacophony…a medley of spices, tastes and aromas. Yet on first bite, the cacophony subsides, the melody begins…with each flavour complimenting the other. And nowhere is India’s food more delicious than on its bustling streets…where real India eats. A manifestation of the colorful spirit and energies of our country, street food reflects the very soul of India. This film samples – and celebrates – the explosion of flavours and foods that is Indian street fare.

    • I absolutely love eggs too, I could eat them three times a day! Maybe I was a Parsi in my past life. Egg-eating-wise, I am Parsi in this life too, just not officially 🙂
